Okay, not fishing per se, but we'll be on vacation for the next week, headed back to the Midwest to see family. I'll check in from the road, but try not to trash the place while I'm gone, okay?

Happy Friday, all! Sorry for the absence all week but the week has been a bit of a blur because we got the outside of the house painted, and I had a lot of stuff to do in advance.

I know. Lame excuse, dude.

I did whip up a few quick meals that I'll post, but let these Bob Hope funnies be your appetizer! Thanks to Kathleen for the laughs.

Happy Easter weekend, folks! A bad week for blogging, but some great weather here, with some nice rain today.

It's our usual spicy chicken and eggplant curry on basmati rice, though I did add some raisins this time, which I really like. Julie, not so much.

I'm late getting to this email I got from John in Chicago recently, but the nominees for this years James Beard Awards are up. Lots of great food out there, check out the websites if you're not familiar with the chefs and their restaurants!

I've been in a programming class that completely kicked my butt, not to mention sucked all the time I had to cook this week, let alone write about it.
