Happy Valentine's Day to everyone, from all of us at Desert Island Foods™.com!
If you could have your ultimate romantic meal tonight, what would it be? Let's have some fun with this. Imagine money is no object. Would you travel somewhere exotic, go out for an incredible gourmet dinner, have something catered or cook at home?
Personally, I'm the cook at home type...
Well, since I have (5) kids, I would say I would like to eat OUT! Romantic meals? I prefer a nice (small) filet mignon, and a great bottle of red wine:) Dessert - something chocolate.
Since I still have no appetite, I will be making my entire family their favorite meal - my home made chicken nuggets. LOL. Lowbrow - yes, but a crowd pleaser for the under 12 crowd (plus, my hubby likes 'em too.)
You know what??? It would be a Nathan's hot dog and a coke... it's WHO I wish I were sharing it with that makes it romantic... and I'm not. So, it's Organ Stop Pizza with my sweet wee-one!!!!!!
Yeah. Not so romantic OR creative. :o)
5 kids, that just took the wind out of me.
If I had it my way, Valentimes day would cover 2 days and 2 nights. Away. From everyone, except my wife. It could be anywhere from the mountains, seashore, europe, new zealand or greenland.
Instead, we'll snack on chocolates my wife bought yesterday and I'll marinate some pork for tomorrow night.
Biggles
Mmmmmm .. I think a great steak and a really good bottle of red wine in front of a crackling fire. Raspberry & ice cream crepes would do nicely. Espresso. Cognac. Soft music. Bare skin rug :)
For me it's all about the ambience. You can serve me a fantastic shrimp dish or throw a poptart on a paper plate. If I love the guy who did it, I'll be too busy gazing at him to eat either one. :)
Wow, great stuff, everyone!
Romantic dinner would be a loaf of fresh french bread, some brie, and a bottle of wine with my husband. On the beach in Playa del Carmen. Local music playing in the background, watching the little fishing boats come in. With our kids back at the hotel with their grandparents.
