Lockeford Basil Sausage

This was sent in by reader Paul in the Bay Area. Here's Paul's dinner:
Have you ever been to Lockeford Ca? It is located about 2 hours from the Bay Area . It is near Stockton about 10 miles East of highway 99. The downtown area is about 3 blocks long. It is not a memorable town unless you see the Lockeford Meat Co. All of a sudden this town is the "Mac Daddy". You walk in and there is a sausage for everyone. Tonight we are going to have Basil Sausage. I also recommend trying their Dakota Sausage. It is a blend of Veal, Pork, and Turkey. It is a really mild and delicious treat. You may not have heard of the Lockeford Meat and Sausage Co if you live in the Bay Area. They stay fairly local through the Sacramento- Stockton corridor. They are at all the festivals and events in this area. (Asparagus, Crawdad,and a lot of county festivals).

Cheryl - I am going to try the Basil sausage next. Kyle loves it since he tries everything I bring home. He is now a food critic. As said in the article, the Dakota Sausage is a blend of Veal, Pork, and Turkey.

I like the Apple, Beer, Brittish Bangers, Italian, oh never mind there isn't a sausage or Beef Jerkey in Lockeford Meats that I don't love. I live in Carson City Nevada so every time I can find an excuse to go to Lockeford Meats I'm on my way. Do you ship??? :)

We LOVE your sausages! Ken, my partner, used to live in Lockeford and introduced me to these wonderful links! We just had the breakfast sausages this a.m. and am looking forward to the apple sausages later this week. We do "ration" out our enjoyment of these sausages because we live in Lincoln (N.E. of Sacramento)and can't get to Lockeford often enough. I will repeat -- "Do you ship?" and, Do you do any festivals or fairs up this way? Or, is there any outlet for your wonderful sausages in the Sacramento area? Anxious for the answers, I remain - a faithful follower! Diane
