Denny's has announced a make-over of their menu to be headed by Peter Gibbons, a CIA grad with 25 years experience in the biz, including Burger King's recent menu changes.

I've stumbled into a few Denny's in the wee hours more times than I care to admit, but I never thought I'd see a Grand Slam® Rossini on the menu. How he's going to be able to offer truffles and foix gras along with 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, and 2 tasty pancakes for only $5.95?

At first it struck me as odd that ex-Central Intelligence Agency types (what, operators, analysts, station chiefs..?) would now be running diners much less fast food restaurants... but then it dawned on me; what better cover for a spook ? I mean, theyre everyplace..in every country in the world.. Hell, there's a Burger King in the Green Zone in Baghdad (under AAFES contract)and nobody looks twice at them.. Its brilliant ! Now Denny's too , eh? Good thinking. One could mike the tables and listen in on pretty much anyone as they drink their first cups of joe in the morning and chatter on mindlessly.. Someone's bound to drop the location of Sheik Osama or al Zarqawi.. But at least as far as the middle east goes they may want to play down the sausage and ham breakfast specials and maybe drop the All American meals all together... Maybe something more like "All Allah Breakfasts" or "Al Aqsa Martyrs Breakfasts" or something... You kind of have to taylor your menu to your clientele.
